Same-Day Crowns · Keene & Joshua, TX
Same-Day Crowns.
A digital scan, a crown milled right here in our office, and you walk out with it the same day — no goopy impressions, no temporary crown, and no second shot of numbing weeks later. In Keene and Joshua, TX.
What a crown does
A custom cap that gives a hurt tooth its job back.
A dental crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged tooth to bring back its strength, shape, and natural look. You might need one for a cracked or broken tooth, a large old filling that's failing, a tooth after a root canal, worn-down teeth, or simply to improve how a tooth looks.
One visit, start to finish
Done in a single visit.
We design and mill your crown in our own office with same-day technology (CEREC / Primemill). For most patients that means the whole thing — start to finish — happens in one appointment. What that means for you:
One visit, not two or three
The prep, the scan, the design, the milling, and the fitting all happen in a single appointment.
No temporary crown
Nothing to fall off, feel bulky, or get sensitive while you wait on a lab.
No coming back weeks later
You leave with your final crown bonded in place — not a placeholder.
No second shot of anesthesia
One numbing at the start of the visit, and that's it.
Why we prefer same-day
The trouble with temporary crowns.
With the traditional two-visit approach, you wear a temporary crown for a couple of weeks while a lab makes the real one. Temporaries are the weak link: they can feel bulky, throw your bite off, break, or fall off — and because they don't seal as tightly as the final crown, the tooth underneath is often sensitive and stays exposed to bacteria and temperature the whole time you're waiting.
A same-day crown skips that gap entirely. We prepare the tooth and seal it with your final, precisely-fitted crown in one visit — so there's no leaky temporary period, which can mean less post-op sensitivity and less irritation to the tooth's nerve while it heals. Keeping the tooth well-sealed from the start is simply gentler on the nerve.
No goopy impressions
A quick digital scan — that's it.
Instead of the old gag-inducing impression tray, we take a quick, comfortable digital scan of your tooth. No trays, no putty, no waiting for it to set.
Natural-looking, metal-free
All-ceramic, color-matched, no dark line.
Your crown is modern all-ceramic, color-matched to the teeth around it, and strong enough for everyday chewing — with no dark metal line at the gumline.
What to expect
The one-visit process, step by step.
- Numb and shape. We numb the tooth and gently shape it.
- Digital scan. A quick scan captures your tooth and your bite — no impression goo.
- Design and mill. We design your crown on-screen and mill it right here in the office.
- Fit and bond. We fit it, adjust your bite, and bond it in place — and you leave with your final crown.
The honest version
Same-day isn't always the right call.
For some cases — certain cosmetic work on front teeth, or more complex bites — a lab-crafted crown is the better choice. We'll tell you honestly which one fits you before we start.
Crowns and your insurance
We check both sides of your coverage.
Crowns are usually covered as a dental benefit. And when a crown is needed because of an accident or a fracture, it can sometimes be billed to your medical insurance instead. We check both sides of your coverage before you commit, so your out-of-pocket lands as low as it honestly can. See our medical billing page or our financing options for the details.
Nervous about the dentist?
Calm, comfortable crowns — it's kind of our thing.
If dental visits are hard for you, you're in the right place. We offer sedation options and a team that's used to making crowns calm and comfortable.
