A little Keene history
The Story Behind Old Betsy.
The name is a little piece of Keene history. Generations ago, the people of Keene banded together to bring the Santa Fe railroad into town from Cleburne — chipping in to build a depot and put Keene on the line. The steam engine that finally rolled in became such a beloved fixture that the town nicknamed it "Old Betsy." The road our flagship office still sits on carries the name to this day — and so do we. That spirit — neighbors coming together to take care of their own — is exactly how we try to treat every patient who walks through our door. (And yes, it's why a little train still circles our Keene waiting room.)

Founded by Dr. Brady Rusk in 1982, entrusted to Dr. Dan Mertz in 2015, and carried forward by Dr. Argyle and Dr. Bennion since 2021. The same building, the same warm welcome — three generations of Keene families now sit in our chairs.
