A smile you actually like seeing in photos.

Cosmetic dentistry isn't one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it's a single hour of bonding. Sometimes it's whitening. Sometimes it's a careful set of veneers, or Invisalign first to straighten what's underneath. We'll show you what fits, talk honestly about trade-offs, and never push the bigger treatment when a smaller one will do.

I had a few small chips on my front teeth — composite veneers were perfect and Dr. Argyle nailed it. He took his time and truly perfected my smile.

Four cosmetic options · what each one actually does

Pick the right tool, not the biggest one.

Professional Teeth Whitening

The fastest, most conservative way to lift overall color. In-office and take-home options. Won't change shape or alignment — won't whiten existing crowns or veneers either.

Best when: teeth are healthy and just dull or stained.

Dental Bonding

Tooth-colored composite sculpted onto your existing tooth to fix chips, close small gaps, or rebuild worn edges. Usually one visit, no anesthetic for small areas, and fully reversible.

Best when: the fix is small and you want minimum commitment.

💎

Porcelain Veneers

Thin custom porcelain shells bonded to the front of your teeth — they reshape, re-color, and rebuild in one transformation. Beautiful and durable, but they do require removing a thin layer of enamel and are not reversible.

Best when: several teeth need shape and color changes and you're ready for a longer-term commitment.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Removable, nearly invisible aligners that straighten teeth without metal — for crowding, spacing, and many bite issues, in adults and teens. See the full Invisalign page →

Best when: the issue is alignment, not color or shape.

Honest before-the-work expectations

What we always tell you before you commit.

  • Whitening doesn't whiten everything. Crowns, veneers, and bonding don't lighten with bleaching gel — they stay their original shade. If you have visible front-tooth restorations, we'll plan whitening first and replace those after.
  • Veneers are a long-term decision. They look beautiful and they last years, but you can't go back to your original enamel afterward. We'll only suggest them when they're truly the right tool for what you're trying to fix.
  • Bonding wears. It's gorgeous when fresh and a great low-commitment option, but it generally needs polishing or replacement every 5–10 years.
  • Invisalign requires you to actually wear it. 20–22 hours a day for the active phase, then retainers indefinitely. Skipping changes the result.
  • Photos beat promises. At your consult we'll show you cases similar to yours — not stock photos — so the result you're picturing matches the result you'll actually get.

Cost & financing

Clear estimates, before you decide.

Most cosmetic work is considered elective and isn't fully covered by dental insurance, but treatment that's also restorative (a chipped front tooth, an Invisalign case fixing a bite problem) often has partial coverage. We verify benefits up front, present a written estimate, and walk through monthly-payment options through Cherry, CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit, and our other partners. See all financing options →

FAQ · Cosmetic dentistry

Questions before changing your smile.

Where should I start if I just don't like how my smile looks?

Start with a cosmetic consult — it's a conversation, not a sales pitch. We listen to what bothers you, take a few photos and (if useful) a scan, then walk through the options that actually fit your teeth and your budget. Sometimes the right answer is a single hour of bonding; sometimes it's whitening; sometimes it's a small set of veneers. You'll leave with an honest plan, not pressure.

Whitening, bonding, veneers, or Invisalign — which one is right for me?

Each one solves a different problem. Whitening lifts overall color but won't change shape or alignment. Bonding repairs chips, small gaps, or worn edges in a single visit. Veneers reshape and re-color front teeth for a bigger transformation, but they're a permanent commitment. Invisalign straightens crowding, spacing, and bite issues without metal. Many smile makeovers combine two of these — for example, straighten first with Invisalign, then whiten — and we'll tell you honestly which combination gets the result you want with the least work.

Will cosmetic work damage my teeth?

It depends on the procedure. Whitening and Invisalign don't change tooth structure. Bonding is additive — material is bonded onto your existing tooth. Veneers do require removing a thin layer of enamel and are not reversible; that's why we plan them carefully and only recommend them when they're truly the right tool. We'll walk you through trade-offs honestly before anything is scheduled.

How long does cosmetic dentistry last?

Professional whitening typically lasts months to a couple of years depending on your habits (coffee, wine, smoking) and is easy to touch up. Bonding usually lasts 5–10 years before it needs polishing or replacement. Quality porcelain veneers commonly last 10–15+ years with good care. Invisalign results are permanent if you wear your retainers as directed. We give you straight-talk maintenance expectations up front — no guarantees, just real numbers.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?

Most dental insurance plans consider purely cosmetic procedures (elective whitening, veneers for appearance, cosmetic bonding) non-covered. Treatment that's also restorative — a crown on a broken front tooth, bonding to repair a chip, Invisalign for a functional bite problem — may have partial coverage. We verify benefits up front and give you a clear written estimate. For out-of-pocket portions, our financing partners (Cherry, CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit, and others) can spread the cost into a monthly payment.

Can you do a smile makeover in one visit?

Some of it, yes — bonding and in-office whitening are usually single-visit. Veneers take two to three visits across a few weeks (records and design, then placement). Invisalign is a months-long process by nature. If you have a hard deadline like a wedding or a class reunion, tell us at the consult and we'll build a realistic timeline backwards from that date.

Ready to talk about it? No pressure.

A cosmetic consult is a conversation. You'll leave with an honest plan and a clear estimate.
