“The spa-like amenities were calming and made for a relaxed dental experience.”
New Patients · Welcome
Your First Visit. No Judgment, No Pressure.
Whether it's been six months or sixteen years, you're welcome here. We go at your pace — no lectures, no surprises, no work you don't need.
Small-town welcome, big-city dental care.
I am a long-time dentist avoider, but I am not exaggerating when I say that this office offered life-changing service and care. If you are nervous about dental care, this is the best, most caring staff.
You're welcome here
It's Okay That It's Been a While.
A lot of our favorite patients hadn't been to a dentist in years — sometimes a decade or more — before they walked through our door. They were nervous. They were a little embarrassed. They weren't sure what we'd say.
What we say is: welcome. We don't lecture. We don't shame. We build trust one visit at a time — at your pace, on your timeline, with a plan that fits your life.
What to expect
A Calm, Simple First Visit.
No mystery, no pressure — here's exactly how it goes.
A warm welcome
You'll be greeted by name. Tell us what you'd like — a blanket, a warm neck wrap, a few minutes to settle in. We mean it.
A gentle, thorough exam
Digital X-rays, a careful look, and time to actually listen to what's been bothering you. No rushing, no talking over your head.
Honest recommendations
We'll tell you what we see — and only recommend what you actually need. If something can wait, we'll say so.
A clear plan, no pressure
You leave with a written plan, an honest estimate, and zero pressure to decide on the spot.
Comfort comes standard
“I had a warm towel around my neck and a choice of several amenities for my comfort. It was a great experience!”
“The dental assistant made sure I was comfortable and even brought me a blanket when I mentioned I was cold — and they had coloring sheets to keep my kids entertained.”
How to get started
Three Simple Steps.
Step 1
Book online or call
Pick the location nearest you — Keene or Joshua — and grab a time that works. Or call the office and we'll get you on the schedule.
Step 2
Fill out new-patient forms
Save yourself time at the front desk — you'll receive our new-patient forms to fill out at home before your visit.
Step 3
What to bring
A photo ID, your insurance card if you're using benefits, and a quick list of any medications. Arrive about 10–15 minutes early and we'll get you settled.
Insurance & payment
Clear, Honest, Practice-by-Practice.
Every Old Betsy practice handles insurance a little differently. Here's the plain truth for each.
General & Family Dentistry
Keene & Joshua. We accept most major dental insurance and will help you understand your benefits. Financing options are available for treatment that goes beyond what your plan covers. And when care is medically necessary — think treating an infection, the result of a medical condition, or an injury to your teeth or jaw — we can often bill your medical insurance too, not just your dental plan.
Implants & Dentures
Financing is available, and in some cases — especially medically necessary tooth replacement — we can bill medical insurance where it applies. You'll get a clear written estimate at your free consult.
Dental Sleep Medicine
Fee-for-service — you pay us directly. We prepare a ready-to-file insurance packet (a "superbill") so you can submit it for possible medical reimbursement on your own. Whether and how much you're reimbursed depends on your individual plan.
Financing options include Proceed Finance, LendingClub, Alphaeon Credit, Covered Care, Cherry, HFD, and CareCredit.
One thing most offices can't offer: when your care qualifies, we can bill your medical insurance for dental care — not just your dental plan.
Not sure where you fit? Call the office — we'll talk it through honestly, with no pressure.
Dental emergencies
In Pain? Call Us First Thing.
Same-day emergency visits are welcome at both our Keene and Joshua general offices. If you wake up with a toothache, a broken tooth, or swelling, call in the morning and we'll do our best to see you that day.
Our promise
Treated Like Family.
Honest, no-pressure care. Gentle hands. Time to actually listen. We won't sell you work you don't need, and we won't rush you through what you do. That's not a marketing line — it's how we'd want our own family treated.

Common questions
New Patient FAQ
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes — across all four practices. New patients are welcome at Old Betsy Dental in Keene and Joshua, at Old Betsy Dental Implants and Dentures, and at Old Betsy Dental Sleep Medicine. The fastest way to get on the schedule is to book online or call the location nearest you.
Do you take my insurance?
Our general and family offices (Keene and Joshua) accept most major dental insurance and we'll help you understand your benefits. Our implants and dentures practice offers financing and, in some cases — especially medically necessary care — we can bill medical insurance where it applies. Our sleep program is fee-for-service; we prepare a ready-to-file insurance packet (a 'superbill') so you can submit it for possible medical reimbursement yourself.
Do you see kids and the whole family?
Yes. Both general offices welcome kids, teens, parents, and grandparents. We're set up to see whole families in one visit when it works for your schedule — and yes, kids get stickers.
What if I'm nervous or haven't been in years?
You're in good company — a lot of our favorite patients walked in after years away. We don't lecture and we don't shame. We start with a gentle exam, talk honestly about what we see, and build trust one visit at a time. If anxiety is part of the story, tell us — we'll go at your pace and talk through comfort options.
Do you handle dental emergencies?
Yes. Same-day emergency visits are welcome at both our Keene and Joshua general offices. If you wake up with pain or a broken tooth, call us first thing — we'll do our best to see you that day.
How do I book?
Book online from any of our location pages, or call the office directly. New-patient forms can be filled out before your visit to save you time at the front desk.
