Tooth Extractions · Keene & Joshua, TX
Tooth Extractions.
When a tooth can't be saved, we make removing it as calm and comfortable as possible — with sedation choices, and the option to place an implant the same day when it fits.
Done here, comfortably
Your team handles it — start to finish.
We handle simple and surgical extractions in-house — no automatic referral to a surgeon across town. Your care stays with your Old Betsy team.
Your options, in one place
Every sedation choice, under one roof.
Most offices refer surgical extractions out. We keep the whole range right here, and match it to your case and your comfort:
With our general dentists
Local anesthetic, laughing gas (nitrous oxide), or minimal sedation. Relaxed and awake, and often an option the same day for more straightforward cases.
With a visiting periodontist
A periodontist visits our office monthly for cases that benefit from a periodontist's hands, with IV sedation available.
With a dental anesthesiologist
We bring in a dental anesthesiologist for dedicated IV sedation — for when you'd rather be as deeply relaxed as possible.
We'll walk you through which path and which level of sedation fits — you get the options in-house instead of a referral out. Laughing gas, minimal sedation, and local with our general dentists can often be same-day; IV sedation is arranged by appointment with the anesthesiologist, and our periodontist visits monthly.
Same-day implant placement
One surgery instead of a long timeline.
Here's a real advantage: in many cases, we can place a dental implant the same day we remove the tooth — called immediate placement — when the bone and the extraction site allow it. The traditional route is a long one: some surgeons wait months after an extraction before even placing the implant, then months more of healing before a tooth goes on it. Placing at the time of extraction can shorten that whole timeline and means one fewer surgery. We'll tell you honestly whether your case is a candidate — not every one is.
For wisdom teeth specifically, see our wisdom teeth removal page.
Planning it right
3D imaging before we start.
For surgical cases we use 3D CBCT imaging to see roots and nearby structures before we start, so the plan is precise and safe.
Gentle with nervous patients
Anxious about it? You're in the right place.
Losing a tooth is stressful enough. We're known for making anxious patients comfortable — headphones, a blanket, a warm neck wrap, and a team that goes at your pace. It's the thing patients mention most.
Extractions and your insurance
We check both sides of your coverage.
Extractions are usually a dental benefit, and surgical or medically necessary removals can sometimes be billed to your medical insurance instead. We check both sides before you commit so your out-of-pocket is as low as it honestly can be. See our medical billing page or our financing options for the details.
